He has to be one of the most exciting hockey coaches we’ve seen in years, and he was instrumental to Slovakia’s recent successes under Dzurilla, too. That was his first season as national team coach and he was the only coach in Slovakia to reach the top of the podium at the World Championships.
Slovakia’s national team has a pretty good history. They have won the gold and silver medals at the European Championships three times. They also appeared in two World Championships, reaching the gold medal game in 1998 and the bronze medal game in 2007. Dzurilla coached the Slovakian national team for the last three seasons, and was rewarded as the most trusted coach in Slovakia last season, as he led the team to second place in its league.
